    In the periodic table, rows are called periods and columns are called groups. The groups are numbered starting from 1 on the leftmost and counts up to 8 to the rightmost. The periods are numbered from top to bottom. Therefore, the element in period 3 and group 2a, is the element in the 3rd row and the 2nd column. That would be Magnesium with an atomic number of 12. Since this is less 92, then the element matches.
