    Explanation:

    Galactosemia is an autosomal recessive disorder. People with this order usually have no problem in the digestion of lactose or absorption of galactose.

    People who are lactose intolerant must however avoid food with large amounts of lactose because they can't digest or metabolize it though they are able to digest and metabolize galactose.
