How does color effect your mood?

For the most part, society teaches us what emotions to have towards certain colors. The color red can give you a sense of danger, or to be on high alert. IT can also mean you are angry or hurt, due to the links we have in our minds that red = blood and blood means you are either hurt or really really mad, in which case the blood rushes to your face. The color blue can make you feel sad, for this one I am unsure as to why. Green makes you calm and tranquil, since trees, grass, and most plants are green, and humans feel most at peace when in nature. These are all the colors I have time to answer for, however, I'm sure others could say more on the subject.
