The molar mass of the substance represents the mass of the substance in one mole. You can see the molar masses of the substance in interest in the periodic table of elements. It is mostly seen at the right bottom side of the element name. In here, you have 25 g of sodium. You should know by now that sodium has a molar mass of 23 grams per mole. To get the number of moles of sodium, divide 25.0 grams by 23 grams per mole. The answer is 1.09 moles of sodium.
