Well, it kind of depends. DNA profiling can answer a lot of questions relating to biological heritage to structural anomalies. On one hand you can find where your family came from or what diseases you may have and could spread to your offspring.

Everybody has a unique set of DNA that can only be identified to you. So, it can be certain that they have the right person if they study their DNA.
