The molar mass of nitrogen is 14 bt since it is a nitrogen molecule (N2) the molar mass will be 14 x 2 = 28g/mol.

Step 1: Calculate the moles of N2

moles = mass / relative molecular mass

    = 50g / 28g/mol

    = 1.7857mol

Step 2: convert the moles of nitrogen into volume of N2

At STP the molar volume of a gas is 22.71L/mol

    Hence the volume = 1.7857mol x 22.71L/mol

    = 40.55L

50g if nitrogen (N2) has a volume of 40.55 liters at stp.
