Describe how desertification has impacted the quality of life of the people living in Southeast Asia?

Alrighty, so, imagine you didn't or don't know much about desertification. You could imagine that it means the land becomes a desert. Knowing this I think it's easy to assume that desertification makes it harder for people in Southeast Asia to grow food or even build houses once their natural resources are destroyed from desertification.
