Who further developed Democritus's early contributions to the atomic theory by proposing that each chemical element has its own kind of atom?

    John Dalton in the early 1800's developed Democritus's theory of atoms to show that different elements have different atoms. Also, the atoms of one type of element are all the same. Also he found that elements combine to from compounds.
