What is the total charge of the thorium nucleus? (the neutral thorium atom has 90 electrons.) ?

    I believe it would have a positive charge of 90 then because if the atom is neutral then the protons must be the same number of electrons and neutrons are neutral so they don’t produce a charge. Therefore the nucleus would have a 90 + charge.
