On the periodic table, the trend in ionization energy is the opposite of the trend in atomic size. True or False?

    False.

    Your initial ionization numbers are 1, 2, 3, + / - 4, - 3, - 2, - 1. This does not trend opposite nor coincides with the atomic mass. As atomic mass is constantly increasing within the periodic table, there is not true correlation between ionization and atomic mass.
