Why do subscriptions of certain elements change between the reactant and the products

    Because when a reaction takes place, the reactants react to form products, and during this reaction, multiple things occur such as oxidation, reduction ... etc and the reactants are no longer the same in the form of products, but become different elements or compounds with different formulas.
