Which best describes how a pH test strip works?

A. Molecules in the paper react differently with Hydronium and Hydroxide ions

B. The paper dissolves when placed in acids, but not when placed in bases

C. Polar Moleculee affect the paper differently than nonpolar molecules

D. The paper uses the low surface tension of water to attract acidic particles.

So far I think its A. But I just want to be sure.

    Molecules in the paper react differently with Hydronium and Hydroxide.

    pH paper deals with acidity and basicity of something. You are correct in thinking that A is the answer. Always go with your gut. don't be like me when I was in college who always second guessed my answers. Good luck with chemistry.
