    Answer: 2432 mmHg

    Explanation:

    Given that,

    Original volume of gas V1 = 2.50L

    Original pressure of gas P1 = ? (P1 is the unknown pressure)

    New volume of gas V2 = 8.0L

    New pressure of gas P2 = 760 mmHg

    (Note that standard pressure a gas is 760 mmHg)

    Since pressure and volume are given while temperature is constant, apply the formula for Boyle's law

    P1V1 = P2V2

    P1 x 2.50L = 760 mmHg x 8.00L

    P1 x 2.50L = 6080 mmHg L

    P1 = 6080 mmHg L / 2.50L

    P1 = 2432 mmHg

    Thus, the unknown pressure P1 is 2432 mmHg
