1. Carbon dioxide is in a steel tank at 20°C, 10 liters and 1 atm. What is the pressure on the gas when the tank is heated to 100°C?

2. What temperature will 215 mL of a gas at 20°C and 1 atm pressure attain when it is subject to 1.5 atm of pressure?

3. When the volume changes from 63.5 mL to 69.2 mL, what is the final pressure if the initial pressure was 735 mm Hg pressure?

what laws were used on these?

    1. We apply Gay-Lussac's Law:

    P/T = constant

    1/20 = P/100

    P = 5 atm

    2. We apply Gay-Lussac's Law again:

    1/20 = 1.5/T

    T = 30°C

    3. We apply Boyle's Law:

    PV = constant

    735 x 63.5 = 69.2 x P

    P = 674 mmHg
