Lenny accidentally drops his matchbox car into a graduated cylinder. if the car has a mass of 10 grams and the water level in the cylinder rises from 41 ml to 46 ml. determine the density of the matchbox car. the formula for density is d = m v

    This is easy. This is so easy my cats could probably do it. And they don't even have opposable thumbs.

    But here we go anyway!

    First thing is the formula given, which is Density=Mass * Volume

    The mass is given in the problem, it's ten grams, which means your formula is now: d=10 * v

    To find the volume of the object, you look at the water displacement, which you find by subtracting the water level before the car was put in from the water level after it was put in, which is 46-41

    This obviously equals 5, so you can go ahead and put it in the formula, which makes it:

    d=10 * 5

    In case you haven't already realized it, this comes out to 50, which makes the density of your car 50g/mL
