    One source of error in calculating the enthalpy of fusion of water is the uncontained heat that is transferred from the system to the surroundings. Calculations assume isentropic but in reality it is not. The calorimeter can be a source of another error due to its capacity to contain heat. Also, the thermometer can add to the entropic property of the whole entity.
