A flask that has a mass of 345.8 g is filled with 225 mL of carbon tetrachloride. The mass of the flask and the carbon tetrachloride is found to be 703.55 g. Calculate the density in g/mL and kg/L.

    D = 1.59 g/mL = 1.59 kg/L

    Mass of CCl₄ = 703.55 g - 346.8 g = 357.75 g

    D = mass/volume = 357.75 g/225 mL = 1.59 g/mL

    (1.59 g/1 mL) * (1 kg/1000 g) * (1000 mL/1 L) = 1.59 kg/L
