what happens if you decrease the kinetic energy of a substance? what would happen if you increased the kinetic energy of a substance?

    Decreasing the kinetic energy of a substance would cause that substance's molecules to move slower. Increasing the kinetic energy would cause the substance's atoms to move faster, and melt, evaporate, or etc.
