The shrimps are the scavengers found on the oceanic floor. These eat organic matter on the sea floor which consists of decomposed animal and plant matter. The animal matter like dead fish, snails, crabs, worms, and clams can be eaten by these animals. Thus they can be considered as primary or secondary consumers in the food chain. These shrimps can be eaten by the fishes that can be secondary consumers. These fishes can be eaten by the humans which makes them tertiary consumers in the shrimp food chain.

Because smaller fish eat shrimp as an attainable food source and then get eaten by larger fish and so on until humans eventually eat one of the fishes
