SpongeBob's mother is so proud of her son and his new wife, SpongeSusie, as they are excepting a little sponge. She knows that they have 50% chance of having a little roundpants, but is also hoping the new arrival will be blue (a recessive trait) like SpongeSusie and many members of her family. If SpongeBob is heterozygous for his yellow body colour, what are the chances that the baby sponge will be blue?

The chance of their baby being blue is a 25% chance. There is a 50% chance that their baby will carry the trait but not have the feature. Since SpongeBob is heterozygus he carries the blue trait so his kid has a 50% chance of being blue from his genes. SpongeSusie is blue so she has a 100% of her child being blue.
