    A polyatomic ion is a molecuar ion that is composed of more than one element. The elements in this molecule are chemically bonded and is a charge chemical species. These atoms act as a simgle unit. Examples are C2H3O2^ - (acetate), CO3^2 - (carbonate) and CrO4^2 - (chromate).
