    Decomposition equation of sodium chloride is given below: 2NaCl=>2Na+Cl2

    Explanation:

    A molecule of sodium chloride when subjected to decomposition it is decomposed into sodium and chlorine. The chemical equation can be written as: NaCl=>Na+Cl2

    The above mentioned equation is not a balanced chemical equation. In a balanced chemical equation the number of atoms of each element of reactants must be equal to number of atoms of each element of products. so to balance the above mentioned equation we shall write the required coefficient in reactants and products. In such a way the balanced equation will be 2NaCl=>2Na+Cl2
