The pressure in an automobile tire is 1.88 atm at 25.0°C. What will be the pressure if the temperature increases to 37.0°C?

    Explanation:

    P¹ / T¹ = P² / T²

    Convert the pressure from atm to mmHg

    1.88 atm = 1428.8 mmHg

    Convert the temp. to Kelvin

    25 + 273 = 298 K

    37 + 273 = 310 K

    Insert the values

    1428.8 / 298 = P² / 310

    P² = 310 * 1428.8 / 298

    = 1486.3 mmHg

    Convery the pressure back to atm

    1486.3mmHg = 1.96 atm
