What are clouds that form near the ground and look like fluffy heaps of cotton called?

    There are a few that look like fluffy heaps of cotton. The ones I would assume you're talking about are Cumulus clouds.

    Clouds on the ground are called fog.

    Fog ... I guess ... fog is made when the water vapour (cloud) combines on the surface of the earth ... so fog
