A student collects a sample of gas and finds that 1.01 g of the gas will fill a container with a volume of 0.225 L at STP. What is the molar mass of the gas?

    No of moles of gas = volume of gas/22.4 = 0.225/22.4 = 0.01 moles. Molar mass of gas = weight of the gas/moles of gas at STP = 1.01/0.01 = 101 g/mol.
