What caused the dark peppered moth to flourish after the Industrial Revolution?

    I learned this 2 years ago so it may not exactly right, but it follows along the lines of - The dark peppered moth flourished after the Indistrial Revolution because it was given an advantage: camoflage. The smoke (or whatever it's called) covered forests. Due to the dark color of the moth song with the dark smoke, it was able to be camoflaged from predators, prolonging its lifespan.
