There is a difference between the mixture of the hydrogen and the oxygen and the sample of the water.

In the mixture of the hydrogen and the oxygen, the elements are not chemically combined. They are explosive also as both shows their specific properties. They can be used as fuel because combustion of the gases can produce high amount of the heat.

On the other hand, in water, the two elements are chemically bonded in a specific mixture which cannot be separated via physical means. Water has its unique properties and is not used as a fuel.

They do not have have same energy.
