    The last one (D) describes an endothermic reaction. D is not right.

    The total energy will not increase. If it did everyone would use that reaction in their automobiles. That's getting something for nothing. B is not right.

    C is wrong as well. If anything, the reaction will try to get rid of Thermal Energy. That means

    A is correct. A is the exact opposite to C.
