You want to centrally back up the files users store in the Documents folder in their user profiles, but you don't want users to have to change the way they access their files. What's the best way to go about this?

    The best way to do that is by redirecting folder in the user configuration node of the GPO (Group Policy Object).

    Explanation:

    There are following two types of group policy settings:

    Computer configuration settings User configuration Settings

    Both of them are available in GPO.

    Computer Configuration node contains the settings which applies to computer without any concern of who logs on to it.

    User Configuration node however contains the settings which applies to users regardless of which computer the user is using or logs on to. These settings will allow you to backup your files the way you want as mentioned in the question. You simply have to configure the user configuration node in GPO.
