The proposed method should be used with great care, as it can lead to corrosion and unnecessary metal loss, while overprotection can lead to the production of unwanted blisters, due to cathodic disunion. The way in which the different materials used in the coating processes behave is another of the drawbacks in the corrosion processes, since some materials such as oil-resin paints must not be used in cathodic protection processes.
