An insulated steady-flow mixing chamber has two inlets and 1 outlet. At inlet 1, the mass flow rate is 0.08 kg/s. At inlet 2, the mass flow rate is 0.15 kg/s. The average velocity at the outlet is 12.84 m/s. The area of the outlet is 0.01 m2. What is the specific volume of the outlet fluid (m3/kg) (3 significant figures) ?

    m₃ out = m₁ in + m₂ in

    m₃ out = m₁ in + m₂ in = 0.08 kg/s + 0.15 kg/s = 0.23 kg/s
