A 7.80 in. diameter shaft contains a 0.900 in. deep U-shaped groove that has a 0.60 in. radius at the bottom of the groove. The maximum shear stress in the shaft must be limited to 6000 psi. If the shaft rotates at a constant angular speed of 5.0 Hz, determine the maximum power that may be delivered by the shaft.

The torque is the shear strees multiplied by radius. Radius = 50mm. We'll also have to convert mpa to Newton/mm^2. 1 mpa = 1 N/mm^2. Sowe are good to go. I. e we also have 60N/mm^2. Multiplying both gives 60 N/mm^2 * 50mm = 300N
