Explain why the scenario below fails to meet the definition of competent communication.

Situation: Jim, an employee at Yates Furniture, is introducing his brother to the staff.

Jim: "John, this is Al, my manager."

    He should have used Al's surname and introduced him first. The manager is the more important person, which is why his name would be the first mentioned. Jim also did not introduce John as his brother, so Al has no idea who or why he is being introduced.
