In Achebe's "Civil Peace," it is often said that he uses his language to form a "new English." Achebe does this by filling his English with Igbo language patterns and rhythm. Though he doesn't seemingly create a totally new language, what he comes up with is different enough from traditional English to be termed a new form of the language.
