It is quite hard to understand Holocaust without being there to see. However, Spiegelman’s graphical novel used animal characters instead humans to express the Holocaust events. He used cats to represent the Germans and mice for the Jews. His novel allowed readers to leave any prejudiced ideas of the human nature.
