    The narrator's fear is the answer. The narrator is strangely caught by the bait of Roderick's fascination, and he can't escape until the place of Usher falls totally. Characters can't move and act unreservedly in the house due to its structure, so it accept its very own tremendous character-the Gothic brains that controls the destiny of its occupants.
