In your opinion, why did Branch Rickey ask Jackie Robinson to not fight back against discrimination? Why was this considered having "guts"? How would this idea be treated today?

    In my opinion, If Jackie Robinson fought back all the racism and discrimination, then they would have gotten the reaction they wanted out of him to prove that he was an aggressive person and not needed on the team due to being a person of color. The idea would be improper today because we don't view people as their skin color and even though people are still discriminative and racist, it's not as severe as this time we're living in today.
