In the lines 547 to 568 of The Miller's Prologue, Miller was described as a big man with big mouth and a broad red beard. He had a hairy wart on the right side of his big nose. He could lift and break doors easily which indicates that he was a strong and masculine man. He was always eager to fight which can be driven from the fact that he always carried a sword and a buckler and won many prizes in wrestling. Miller also did some poetry about obscenity. Despite being able to steal and be rich he was a poor man as he didn't resort to stealing.
