The main character is the Princess who has just turned eighteen years old and spoilt with riches since childhood. The King or the father of the Princess has a minimal role to play. But from the story we can understand that the princess was very dear to him since she was a baby. He provided her with the best of things that included only gold, precious stones etc. All things below this standard was not even kept in the palace grounds. So he basically, kept his daughter lavishly and dependant on others with all the amenities.
