In which sentence does the verb agree with the subject?

a. The news about the kittens fill my heart with joy.

b. Mumps were once a common disease throughout the world.

c. Forensics, the use of science in criminal investigation, is featured in many popular TV shows.

    The correct answer is C, because in the first two examples, 'the news' and 'mumps' have to take a verb in singular form, not plural. And C is correct because 'forensics' is singular, therefore the verb has to be singular as well, 'is'.
