What figurative language term is this passage an example of? "Just as the prophets of the eighth century B. C. left their villages and carried their "thus saith the Lord" far beyond the boundaries of their home towns, and just as the Apostle Paul left his village of Tarsus and carried the gospel of Jesus Christ to the far corners of the Greco Roman world, so am I compelled to carry the gospel of freedom beyond my own home town."

The figurative language being used in the passage is an example of Jargon. It is because based on the passage, the priest made use of religious terms in his everyday speaking habit that made it to be hard for a normal person to do so without any religious background in which Jargon is being defined as a characteristic language in which is used by a particular or specific group.
