Identify and list the prepositional phrases in each sentence in the paragraph below. Rewrite the pargraph. Use the prepositional phrases in a manner that encourages sentence variety within the paragraph. Do not forget commas where appropriate.

Paragraph: The construction workers demolished the concrete in front of the office building with jackhammers. People could hear the racket throughout the city. The workers were smart. They wore plugs in their ears. The people around the construction site wanted ear plugs too.

    Prepositional phrase lacks either a verb or subject. It consists of a preposition and a noun or preposition and a pronoun. It can also act as an adverb or adjective. Adverb phrase refers to the group of words which qualifies adjectives, verbs or adverbs. Adjective Phrase refers to the modification of noun or pronoun in a sentence with group words.

    In front of the office building the construction workers demolished the concrete with jackhammers. Throughout the city people could hear the racket. The workers were smart, they wore earplugs. The people working in offices around the construction site wanted earplugs, too.
