A flight from Hartford, CT to Seattle, WA takes about 6 hours. The return trip takes about 5 hours. The reason for this is related to the concepts you are learning about. Why does this happen?

    Coriolis effect: The return flight from Seattle to Harton is towards South East of Seattle

    Explanation:

    As the plane travels in air towards south, the air will carry it to the east, giving it that eastward velocity as a result of coriolis effect. The acceleration increase is as a result of the southward speed of the airplane.
