Which type of cultivation did not work in virginia but proved to be very successful in the carolinas mainly because of unique climate, land, and west african expertise in growing this type of crop?

    Because of the unique climate and land needs for the growth of rice, as well as the West African expertise in the growth of the crop, it worked well in the Carolinas while it did not thrive in Virginia.
