The term is "Porfiriato" - and it originates from Porfirio, that is Porfirio Dias, a general and a president of Mexico for thirty years (between 1884 and 1911 - seven terms in total). It refers to the time under the leadership of Porfirio when Porfirio Dias had almost absolute power in Mexico.
