Since the Continental Army was losing their battles, George Washington decided to attack a British camp in Trenton to make the soldiers happier. Washington knew they would win the fight because Washington knew the Regulars would still be drowsy and sleepy at dawn. The British were not ready so early. This was the first battle the continental army won.
