The major causes of the American Revolution were
1. the British Government taxing the colonies through the Sugar Act and Stamp Act (and others) to pay for their war debt in the French and Indian War.
2. the colonists were becoming tired of British rule and were becoming more independent
3. The Americans wanted to be able to send their own people to Britian's Parliment or have a vote for Britain's lawmakers.
