England was irritated with New Netherland because of the illegal trade they were doing with other countries. New Netherland was a colonial province of the 17th century. It was located in the east coast of North America. The colony was mainly developed to tap the North American fur trade. The main people living in the New Netherland were native Americans, Africans and Europeans. The 17th century is also known as the golden age of the Dutch. It was during this period that the Dutch were expanding their reach in terms of social, cultural and economy.
