    1900s

Psychology started being accepted as an academic discipline in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This occurred when Wilhelm Wundt, a German thinker and researcher created the first experimental laboratory for psychological research. Following Wundt's experimental laboratory, academicians in other parts of Europe and America set up their own exprimental laboratories and introduced psychology as an academic discipline.
