During this period the United States transformed into an industrial, urbanized nation full of technological innovations. This period further marked an economic growth through large scale agriculture and the expansion of the federal government. Peoples lives in this period changed due to social tensions brought by immigration, federal Indian policies, financial turmoils, increased demand for workers rights among women and minorities.
